Everyone wants to make a free website and make money, and get free traffic, or both. Why not. Why pay for web hosting when you can get it for free.

Free website services like Squidoo, and free blog sites like Blogger are quite useful and can make money if used properly, but theres some things you should know before you diving in.

Make a free website...The Good Things

  • You get to learn how to put a website together with no upfront cost, just your time and trouble. Uisng a free website is a great way to learn and experiment with the basics.

  • If you have a profitable niche, then creating a free website can make you money, either from affiliate marketing or direct sales or a myriad of other ways.

  • You usually do not need to be an HTML programmer to make these free services work. Thats because they are set up for beginners, many target the first time website builder specifically.

    Making a free website---The bad things

  • The big problem is that someone else owns the site and has ultimate power over you. If you do something that annoys the site owner, even if its not your fault, your account can be cancelled and all your work is down the drain.

  • Many free services limit what you can put up on the system. After all, hosting costs money, and theres only so much they can afford to give away for free. You might not be able to upload pictures or various types of files such as movies and pdf's.

  • Its only one page ! If you are able to make one page work well, theres no reason you could not make more, on the same topic.
